MANHID first solo exhibition by Ronald Jeresano
, delves into that fragile space between holding back and losing control of one’s emotion: one that he defines as numbness. For Jeresano, numbness could be the fleeting prelude to depression or breakdown, but it is still a precious and reflective moment where a sense of beauty, strength and order could nonetheless be grasped and understood. Jeresano’s works are distinguished by the play of solidity and fluidity in figuration, more recently expressed through the rendition of bubbles which take the form of various image and text to propel the artist’s social commentary. Among his many awards and recognitions, Jeresano is a Grand Prize winner of both the Metrobank MADE in 2008 and the ArtPetron competition in 2007 and 2008. This exhibition is presented in cooperation with Nineveh Artspace.
